Lenght: About 60mm from the top of the earwire, this can vary depending on the lenght of the wing case. There are 2 pairs of wings on each earring.
Materials: Argentium 935 Silver and Beetle Wings.
Closure: Ear Wire, Argentium 935 Silver. Hypoallergenic.
Hand made jump rings and ear wires.

Jewel beetles are not bred in captivity, they start out as a wood boring beetle in the forests of Thailand where they can spend as much as 2-3 years in rotting foliage and trees etc. When they emerge, they have been transformed into a flying beetle.
These then mate, lay eggs in trees and continue the cycle.  Once they have laid thier eggs they die, these are then collected from the forest floor by local people as a food source. The beetles are eaten, the wings are simply a bi product of a natural occurring food source.
